This talk by Ian Everest (over Zoom) covered the history of a farm on the South Downs.

To ‘make hay’ and 'bring in the harvest' sound like idyllic past times, but this talk showed just how tough life was on the South Downs during the 1950’s. The war was over, but the battle was still being fought to feed the nation. The talk included an interesting original cine film.
